Goggles

What are they and why do we use them? What types are there?

Goggles are simply a pair of glasses that protect your eyes from chemical spills. They can be made from any clear perspex material, but ideally you just want to find a pair that are comfortable on your face.

When do you use?

When mixing buffers or working with dangerous chemicals. No need to wear during general experiments with safe reagents.

If you already wear glasses, you don’t need to wear an additional pair of goggles - but they may provide some additional protection.

How do you use?

Put them on your face when working with dangerous chemicals. Store somewhere safe away from any possible dangerous contaminants - you put them on your face after all!

Like a lab coat, goggles should remain in the lab permanently.
